In 2000 a group of Rotarians, from Avalon and Wells, undertook a trek out to a remote area in North Nepal. They were there to see, first hand, the projects supported by The Nepal Trust and to help build a much-needed health centre. They were determined this would not be a ‘one-off’ nor lose the desire to support the projects they’d seen by raising money for The Nepal Trust. One of the number came up with the superb idea of holding an annual Boules Tournament in Wells and the rest is history.
To date more than £90,000 has been raised through the Boules Tournament. This makes an incredible difference to the people living in this area of Nepal. Money raised has also helped provide direct aid following the devastating earthquake in 2015.
Wells Charity Boules Tournament is always a great day out and fun way to raise money too. We do hope you'll join us.
